The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute Eduardo Manny shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baldomiro Nardo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Angel Silbestre hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, LAS ESTRELLAS DE BANFIELD's Angel Silbestre got a free kick in the 11th minute. Nunez Koldo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulino Hegoi in the 15th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Paulino Hegoi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nunez Koldo was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. Baldomiro Nardo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joaquin Jeraldo in the 20th minute of the match. Justo Oinaz charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Justo Oinaz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of LAS ESTRELLAS DE BANFIELD booed when Tatu Carreta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Justo Oinaz didn't get a good kick on the ball. 23 minutes into the game, Ceferino Polentzi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tatu Carreta 's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave LAS ESTRELLAS DE BANFIELD the free kick. A collision led to Tatu Carreta getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Ceferino Polentzi hit a great ball. After 24 played minutes Paulino Hegoi rounded Tatu Carreta 's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. When Paulino Hegoi came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the LAS ESTRELLAS DE BANFIELD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulino Hegoi couldn't finish the play. 36 minutes into the match, Tatu Carreta 's goal looked a bit too open when Guido Florin came free, but Nunez Koldo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Angel Silbestre hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Tatu Carreta 's Nunez Koldo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulino Hegoi in the 48th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Nunez Koldo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baldomiro Marquez, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. The audience was convinced that Paulino Hegoi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nunez Koldo was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. Baldomiro Marquez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nunez Koldo having to interfere. If Paulino Hegoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Paulino Hegoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Nunez Koldo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 80 minutes, Alejandro Joanes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. LAS ESTRELLAS DE BANFIELD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alejandro Joanes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nunez Koldo came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by LAS ESTRELLAS DE BANFIELD's Paulino Hegoi. But to his dismay, Paulino Hegoi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. LAS ESTRELLAS DE BANFIELD's Paulino Hegoi got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Paulino Hegoi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 91 minutes into the match, Tatu Carreta 's goal looked a bit too open when Baldomiro Marquez came free, but Nunez Koldo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulino Hegoi in the 93rd minute of play forced Tatu Carreta 's goalkeeper Nunez Koldo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paulino Hegoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Nunez Koldo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Baldomiro Marquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Nunez Koldo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
