Baldomero Manilan struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Siro Errando didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Independiente. The audience was convinced that Orlando Dalmai's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fernan Jaunti was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. MARTINI UNITED's Esteve Rico got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orlando Dalmai in the 18th minute of play forced Independiente's goalkeeper Fernan Jaunti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Orlando Dalmai managed to get in a good position for a shot. MARTINI UNITED's supporters rose to their feet, but Orlando Dalmai was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fernan Jaunti breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 27th match minute, Independiente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Florentino Seguinus to maneuver through the defense. Cristo Berdaitz took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 28th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Fernan Jaunti. Independiente's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Fernan Jaunti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orlando Dalmai in the 30th minute of the match. After 38 played minutes, MARTINI UNITED's Genaro Sayveon shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fernan Jaunti came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in MARTINI UNITED reached it. Fernan Jaunti stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Orlando Dalmai's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. When Orlando Dalmai came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the MARTINI UNITED fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Orlando Dalmai couldn't finish the play. Fernan Jaunti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orlando Dalmai in the 47th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Orlando Dalmai to make the kick off. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Orlando Dalmai took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Fernan Jaunti to make any attempt to save it. MARTINI UNITED's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Independiente the free kick. In the 60th minute, one of MARTINI UNITED:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for MARTINI UNITED. In the 62nd minute there was a penalty for Independiente. Tomás Benvide stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Siro Errando. 1-2. Orlando Dalmai's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fernan Jaunti read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. If Esteve Rico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 74 minutes into the match, MARTINI UNITED's Esteve Rico sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fernan Jaunti narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 75 minutes Independiente's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cristo Berdaitz who took care of the corner kick. MARTINI UNITED's Cristo Berdaitz was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Fernan Jaunti in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 78thth minute of the game Orlando Dalmai who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Independiente's Fernan Jaunti was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Orlando Dalmais short, quick shot in the 80thth minute got Fernan Jaunti to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. MARTINI UNITED's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cristo Berdaitz in the 81st minute. A nice corner shot did that Cristo Berdaitz got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Fernan Jaunti quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Independiente's goalkeeper Fernan Jaunti, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Vladimiro Llorian fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernan Jaunti having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Orlando Dalmai got free with Fernan Jaunti in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Independiente booed when MARTINI UNITED was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Esteve Rico didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 95th minute, Orlando Dalmai got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. MARTINI UNITED's Esteve Rico got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. During the 98th minute of the match Celedonio Oalo completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Celedonio Oalo a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. MARTINI UNITED's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
