Aquiles Rivas had several of the Boca Juniors's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 22 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Cecilio Vela as he didn't even see the shot coming. After a defensive mix-up in Boca Juniors's zone, Aquiles Rivas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cecilio Vela came out of the goal and Aquiles Rivas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aquiles Rivas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Justino Fertus managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hufflepuff's supporters rose to their feet, but Justino Fertus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cecilio Vela breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 40th minute, Damian Sabin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 41st minute of the match Samuel Rumaldo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cecilio Vela skillfully saved the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Feliberto Domingues stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Hufflepuff's Narciso Odilon got control of the ball when Gonzalo Criston tried to sneak it across the goal line. Horacio Peio hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. If Gonzalo Criston had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Narciso Odilon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Feliberto Domingues, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Feliberto Domingues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Narciso Odilon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 92nd minute, Maximiliano Rolado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 93rd minute of the match Samuel Rumaldo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cecilio Vela skillfully saved the ball. Justino Fertus blasted a shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cecilio Vela having to make a save. Boca Juniors's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
