Condarco's Baltasar Manilan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rosendo Crispo in the 23rd minute of play. Melquiades Hotz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tsunami FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Condarco the free kick. The supporters of Condarco booed when Tsunami FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severo Azeari didn't get a good kick on the ball. Melquiades Hotz might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nicanor Abajas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Melquiades Hotz ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 49th minute, Celso Bernard got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Melquiades Hotz to make the kick off.
