Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hernan Lico to make the kick off. Gaspar Napier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jose Frances, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 62 minutes into the game, Club Atletico Peñarol's Modesto Jaizki nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. But to his dismay, Owe Simmelkiær quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 12-0. Jeronimo Tello hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. When the referee ended the match the Club Atletico Peñarol players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
