The crowd rose to their feet as Baltasar Ritchie kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Teddy Roche. That made the score 1-0 in the 3 minute of play. Placido Polo kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Mateo Quilino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernabe Bastia in the 9th minute of the match. A collision led to Athens FC getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Edgardo Aureo hit a great ball. Mateo Quilino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernabe Bastia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 13 minutes, Elpidio Aguirre managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bagual's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elpidio Aguirre was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Bagual fans' excitement grew in the 16th match minute when Bagual's Bernabe Bastia looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Faustino Cresitobalo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teddy Roche having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bernabe Bastia in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mateo Quilino saved Athens FC from getting behind. In the 31st minute Bernabe Bastia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mateo Quilino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 34 minutes into the match, Athens FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bernabe Bastia came free, but Mateo Quilino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mateo Quilino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elpidio Aguirre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mateo Quilino came out of the goal and Bernabe Bastia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernabe Bastia in the 44th minute of play forced Athens FC's goalkeeper Mateo Quilino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Athens FC's Ivan Gau got a free kick in the 47th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bernabe Bastia to make the kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Elpidio Aguirre managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bagual's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elpidio Aguirre was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edgardo Aureo during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 54th minute, Edgardo Aureo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Athens FC's zone, Bernabe Bastia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mateo Quilino came out of the goal and Bernabe Bastia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Elpidio Aguirre recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 69 minutes into the match, Bagual's goal looked a bit too open when Faustino Cresitobalo came free, but Teddy Roche reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Natalio Gustau during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Athens FC getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Natalio Gustau hit a great ball. After 78 played minutes Inocencio Gipuzkoa scored with a long sweeping shot just to the left of Mateo Quilino who was too lazy, 1-2. If Bernabe Bastia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Elpidio Aguirre came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Bagual fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elpidio Aguirre couldn't finish the play. In the 88th minute Faustino Cresitobalo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teddy Roche saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elpidio Aguirre might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mateo Quilino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Elpidio Aguirre ran back to his position shaking his head. Elpidio Aguirre recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Elpidio Aguirre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elpidio Aguirre received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Mateo Quilino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Bagual left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Athens FC.
