Joaquin Levința made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Camilo Ezkerra in the 37th minute of play. Abel Osorio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 42nd minute, Nicanor Orlanda left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Public Image Limited fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. When Everardo Blasi came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Public Image Limited fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Everardo Blasi couldn't finish the play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Camilo Ezkerra made the kick off in the second half. Nicanor Orlanda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Flores having to interfere. In the 57th minute, Candido Errolan had to leave the field with a concussion. After 57 minutes, Jose Maule mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Public Image Limited and the Lamarque players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jose Maule hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. In the 59th minute, Lamarque's Abel Osorio dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. In the 66th match minute, Lamarque was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernan Alvarez to maneuver through the defense. Nicanor Orlanda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lamarque's Francisco Flores played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicanor Orlanda in the 85th minute of play. Francisco Flores took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Erdiano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abel Osorio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Joaquin Levința tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nicanor Orlanda blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Francisco Flores having to make a save. Felix Erdiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Lamarque players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
