After a rather tough play, Arbolito FC's Apolo Romildo got a free kick in the 35th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as River Plate's Cleto Flores slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Adan Aznar. That made the score 2-0 after 37 minutes of play. Arbolito FC's Adan Aznar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cleto Flores in the 42nd minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

51 minutes into the match, River Plate's Ladislao Guifre sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Adan Aznar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cleto Flores in the 80th minute of play forced Arbolito FC's goalkeeper Adan Aznar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Apolo Romildo fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Arbolito FC's protests and gave Apolo Romildo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 81st match minute, Arbolito FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Apolo Romildo to maneuver through the defense. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
