Club Atletico San Martin's Urbano Hitzeder proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Club Atletico San Martin from getting a goal against them. If Rigoberto Suarez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rigoberto Suarez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Urbano Hitzeder having to make a save. Clorinda's Gaston Constancio couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 27th minute. After a rather tough play, Clorinda's Anastasio Edorta got a free kick in the 44th minute. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Americo Sandalio was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, Clorinda's Silvestre Goito got control of the ball when Silvestre Chano tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 60 played minutes Club Atletico San Martin got a freekick which was hit by Eliseo Peruanton. The audience thought a goal was coming when Silvestre Chano got free with Silvestre Goito in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 68 minutes, Claudio Bermudez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Atletico San Martin and the Clorinda players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 68th minute of the game. One of Club Atletico San Martin:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Clorinda:s goal. The referee gave Clorinda a penalty, 70 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Gaston Constancio, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Club Atletico San Martin's Urbano Hitzeder. 2-1. Rigoberto Suarez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eliseo Peruanton hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Americo Sandalio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Urbano Hitzeder was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. Silvestre Chano scored 2-2 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Silvestre Goito, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 84 played minutes Club Atletico San Martin got a freekick which was hit by Leonel Seguinus. 86 minutes into the game, Americo Sandalio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Urbano Hitzeder was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Honorio Timo fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Atletico San Martin's protests and gave Honorio Timo a yellow card for diving instead. After 89 played minutes Club Atletico San Martin got a freekick which was hit by Honorio Timo. In the 95th minute of the match Freddy Frederico shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Urbano Hitzeder showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Eliseo Peruanton's late challenge caught a Clorinda's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eliseo Peruanton helped the player get up and apologised. There was no doubt that Clorinda were the better team. Clorinda's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
