During the 28th minute of the match Silvestre Urtzi completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Silvestre Urtzi a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Silvestre Urtzi hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. In the 31st minute Fausto Lizer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adan Aznar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Honorio Timo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Adan Aznar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Club Atletico San Martin were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fausto Lizer made a kick off. If Fausto Lizer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adan Aznar was out of position in the 53 minute of play, and Fausto Lizer capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Fausto Lizer really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. Apolo Romildo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Urbano Hitzeder having to interfere. Luciano Jago was shown his second yellow card after 71 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 88th minute, Silvestre Chano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Fausto Lizer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Urbano Hitzeder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Apolo Romildo in the 92nd minute of the match. Silvestre Chano struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Adan Aznar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Atletico San Martin. Silvestre Chano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adan Aznar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play.
