Joel Hulberto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santos Etxekopar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Antalyaspor's Joel Hulberto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santos Etxekopar in the 40th minute of play. Joel Hulberto made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Celestino Quinteros sent off a good shot on target. After 46 minutes, Evelio Ourente mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Antalyaspor and the Club Atletico River Plate players grew even worse after the yellow card. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
