Segundo Servando fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clodoveo Azibar having to interfere. 44 minutes into the game, Cayetano Inautzi recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Teofilo Farias. Cayetano Inautzi showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When Cayetano Inautzi came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Independiente fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cayetano Inautzi couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hector Dolfo got free with Clodoveo Azibar in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. For all the effort they put into the match, the Carucha Müller F.C. players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Independiente.
