When the match clock showed 3 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Dalmacio Dunixi sped through Independiente's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Clodoveo Azibar. In the 7th minute Celedonio Haitz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sixto Lertxun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dalmacio Dunixi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Clodoveo Azibar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Independiente getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Leonardo Mikelats hit a great ball. Edgard Frutos struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Clodoveo Azibar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Apuyaco. In the 16th minute Cayetano Inautzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sixto Lertxun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Clodoveo Azibar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dalmacio Dunixi in the 20th minute of the match. Adan Rivas charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adan Rivas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 21st minute, Adan Rivas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Apuyaco's Dalmacio Dunixi in 23 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Clodoveo Azibar guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. 24 minutes into the match, Celedonio Haitz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sixto Lertxun. Apuyaco's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Celedonio Haitz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dalmacio Dunixi in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Clodoveo Azibar saved Independiente from getting behind. In the 29th minute Celedonio Haitz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sixto Lertxun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 30th minute, Edgard Frutos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Celedonio Haitz scored 1-2 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sixto Lertxun, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Independiente booed when Apuyaco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albano Darien didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 45 played minutes Apuyaco got a freekick which was hit by Gustavo Gai. Jonatan Iaki, 46 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Celedonio Haitz took the ball and in the 48 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sixto Lertxun. Sixto Lertxun dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dalmacio Dunixi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sixto Lertxun made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adan Rivas in the 56th minute. If Orlando Iigo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Clodoveo Azibar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dalmacio Dunixi in the 67th minute of play. In the 72nd match minute, Apuyaco was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albano Darien to maneuver through the defense. After 73 played minutes, Independiente's Jonatan Iaki shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sixto Lertxun came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Independiente reached it. Edgard Frutos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Clodoveo Azibar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dalmacio Dunixi, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. In the 80th minute of the match Albano Darien sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Clodoveo Azibar skillfully saved the ball. After a rather tough play, Independiente's Eliseo Tercero got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Dalmacio Dunixi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Clodoveo Azibar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee gave Apuyaco a penalty, 94 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Gustavo Gai, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Independiente's Clodoveo Azibar. 2-3. Edgard Frutos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sixto Lertxun was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Celedonio Haitz showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-4 in the 100 minute of play.
