The referee ignored El Pulga de la Gente's protests and gave Ambrosio Nerio a yellow card for diving instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ramon Guerrero got free with Santo Furtado in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Santo Furtado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximino Erramun in the 38th minute of play.
