After a defensive mix-up in Muñoz's zone, Roberto Cesaro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ceferino Costante came out of the goal and Roberto Cesaro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Muñoz's Ceferino Costante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximiliano Macario in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Maximiliano Macario got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 35th minute, Roberto Cesaro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Carlsen fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Carlsen's goalkeeper Sven Borgman, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 48 minutes into the match, Muñoz's goal looked a bit too open when Maximiliano Macario came free, but Ceferino Costante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Benicio Petri stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Carlsen's Americo Pero got a free kick in the 88th minute. Maximiliano Macario's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ceferino Costante read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play.
