A. 25 De Septiembre's Gervasio Ibon shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Celestino Nuñez came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in C. A. 25 De Septiembre reached it. River Plate's Celestino Nuñez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximo Lluis in the 14th minute of play. Celestino Nuñez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Lain, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 15th minute, Cecilio Aznar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Celestino Nuñez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, River Plate's Abelardo Asur got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Celestino Nuñez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Lain, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A. 25 De Septiembre's Maximo Lluis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Celestino Nuñez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Lain got free with Celestino Nuñez in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Daniel Lain fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C. A. 25 De Septiembre's protests and gave Daniel Lain a yellow card for diving instead. Maximo Lluis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Celestino Nuñez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Lain in the 97th minute. The River Plate supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching C. A. 25 De Septiembre's performance. The match ended with a win for C. A. 25 De Septiembre.
