The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 8 minutes into the game, Gregorio Oton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Morcilla FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Matancilla FC the free kick. A collision led to Morcilla FC getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Gregorio Oton hit a great ball. 11 minutes into the match, Lucio Precioso dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Artemio Florian, 1-0. In the 21st minute, Pastor Salomon sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Morcilla FC's Artemio Florian didn't even have to move. When Morcilla FC's Tiburcio Inge in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Saverio Jerold's late challenge caught a Matancilla FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Saverio Jerold helped the player get up and apologised. In the 35th minute, Saverio Jerold hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Delmar Javiero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Morcilla FC's zone, Lucio Precioso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Artemio Florian came out of the goal and Lucio Precioso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Morcilla FC's Artemio Florian got control of the ball when Jonathan Oihenarte tried to sneak it across the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Rene Nayely kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Lucio Precioso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Artemio Florian read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. In the 66th minute, Carmelo Vigil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The long shot by Adolfo Behe in the 67th minute really tested Diego Laffitte's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Diego Laffitte didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Delmar Javiero went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Agustin Araoz charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Agustin Araoz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Agustin Araoz kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Tiburcio Inge sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Artemio Florian came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by Matancilla FC's Lucio Precioso. But to his dismay, Lucio Precioso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. After a defensive mix-up in Morcilla FC's zone, Jonathan Oihenarte stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Artemio Florian came out of the goal and Jonathan Oihenarte tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tiburcio Inge's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Diego Laffitte read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. Saverio Jerold sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Diego Laffitte showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiburcio Inge, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. When Jonathan Oihenarte came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Matancilla FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jonathan Oihenarte couldn't finish the play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Matancilla FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Morcilla FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
