Olavarría AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chaján AFC the free kick. The supporters of Chaján AFC booed when Olavarría AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baldomiro Laurentzi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Urbano Bernebe hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Ramiro Ciceron made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Natalio Jaunti in the 30th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Olavarría AFC's Atilano Atauri got a free kick in the 30th minute. Fabian Bernabel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Wilfredo Nahia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Norberto Salomone during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 46th match minute, Olavarría AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Norberto Salomone to maneuver through the defense. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fabian Bernabel was the one to do the kick off. After 52 minutes, Nunez Eleder mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chaján AFC and the Olavarría AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Chaján AFC's Nunez Eleder got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Abelardo Irrintzi kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Abelardo Irrintzi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramiro Ciceron having to interfere. Natalio Jaunti's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ramiro Ciceron read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Olavarría AFC's zone, Natalio Jaunti stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ramiro Ciceron came out of the goal and Natalio Jaunti tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Abelardo Irrintzi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 76 played minutes Chaján AFC got a freekick which was hit by Arnoldo Salvidor. After some careless play in the Chaján AFC defense, Fabian Bernabel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilfredo Nahia. The Chaján AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wilfredo Nahia should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Olavarría AFC's zone, Natalio Jaunti stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ramiro Ciceron came out of the goal and Natalio Jaunti tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Olavarría AFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Chaján AFC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
