The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jonatan Crescencio struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Armando Tono showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonatan Crescencio in the 8th minute of the match. In the 13thth minute of the game Jonatan Crescencio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Espirillos FC's Armando Tono was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Deportivo Santa Monica booed when Espirillos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erubiel Urti didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jorge Lluques kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jonatan Crescencio in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Armando Tono saved Espirillos FC from getting behind. Deportivo Santa Monica's Ricardo Ugaitz got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Aaron Ordono fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Espirillos FC's protests and gave Aaron Ordono a yellow card for diving instead. After 25 played minutes Espirillos FC got a freekick which was hit by Aaron Ordono. Aaron Ordono sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 31 minutes into the match, Espirillos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jonatan Crescencio came free, but Armando Tono reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Ricardo Ugaitz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Candido Berenguer scored 1-1 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Armando Tono, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Espirillos FC booed when Deportivo Santa Monica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Feliberto Karmel didn't get a good kick on the ball. 47 minutes into the match, Deportivo Santa Monica's goal looked a bit too open when Erubiel Urti came free, but Dalmacio Medina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Erubiel Urti made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Espirillos FC's zone, Ricardo Ugaitz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Armando Tono came out of the goal and Ricardo Ugaitz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 62nd minute Ricardo Ugaitz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armando Tono saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Isidoro Oihan hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. After 65 played minutes Espirillos FC got a freekick which was hit by Aaron Ordono. Florencio Illan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Armando Tono read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. Santos Eate kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Dalmacio Medina made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rosendo Menendo in the 73rd minute of play. In the 74th match minute, Deportivo Santa Monica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricardo Ugaitz to maneuver through the defense. Espirillos FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 83rd minute, when Jonatan Crescencio scored to the left of an out of position Armando Tono, making the score, 1-4. A collision led to Deportivo Santa Monica getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Ricardo Ugaitz hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jonatan Crescencio in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Armando Tono prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Armando Tono didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Deportivo Santa Monica's Jonatan Crescencio shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-5 in the ordered_time% minute. Deportivo Santa Monica played a much better game than Espirillos FC and deserved their victory. The Espirillos FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
