The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jacobo Sotero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arsenio Giro in the 4th minute of play. Teofilo Feliu kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Astor Mazuste kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. An unexpected shot in the 12th minute by Urbano Domiku got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When Bernardo Cordarin came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Ayajaso fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bernardo Cordarin couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Astor Mazuste in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rodolfo Jeraldo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Urbano Domiku sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ayajaso's Jacobo Sotero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arsenio Giro in the 31st minute of play. Bernardo Cordarin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodolfo Jeraldo having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Astor Mazuste in the 40th minute of play forced Varios Pingûinos's goalkeeper Rodolfo Jeraldo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Urbano Domiku got free with Jacobo Sotero in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Eustaquio Elequemedo fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Varios Pingûinos's protests and gave Eustaquio Elequemedo a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Varios Pingûinos getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Eustaquio Elequemedo hit a great ball. Teofilo Feliu didn't quite understand what happened when in the 45 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arsenio Giro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Varios Pingûinos's goalkeeper Rodolfo Jeraldo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Varios Pingûinos's Rodolfo Jeraldo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Astor Mazuste in the 55th minute of play. The supporters of Varios Pingûinos booed when Ayajaso was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emiliano Ticho didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 63rd minute, Urbano Domiku ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jacobo Sotero was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Varios Pingûinos's zone, Astor Mazuste stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodolfo Jeraldo came out of the goal and Astor Mazuste tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Varios Pingûinos's Eustaquio Elequemedo got a free kick in the 95th minute. Fausto Acevedo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
