Francisco Ongile stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Andres Elizardo's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. When El Fortin's Román Cardona in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. El Fortin's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leandro Richie was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. In the 67th minute, Román Cardona reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Francisco Ongile. The goal made the score 2-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Román Cardona in the 72nd minute of play forced Avellaneda's goalkeeper Francisco Ongile to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 76th minute, Jeronimo Iyan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. El Fortin's Carlos Vasconcelos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camilo Medina in the 78th minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, Avellaneda's goal looked a bit too open when Román Cardona came free, but Francisco Ongile reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 81st minute, Andres Elizardo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Francisco Ongile. The El Fortin supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing El Fortin would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
