Maximo Mero might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aristides Pelayo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Maximo Mero ran back to his position shaking his head. Pablo Barea came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by La Banda del Sur's Matias Su. But to his dismay, Matias Su quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 16th minute Maximo Mero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aristides Pelayo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aristides Pelayo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Maximo Mero's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. The supporters of Mattaldi F.C booed when La Banda del Sur was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matias Su didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wilfredo Izel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Mattaldi F.C's goalkeeper Pablo Barea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Mattaldi F.C's goalie and right to Santos Raulo. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Mattaldi F.C's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. If Anselmo Veronica had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to La Banda del Sur getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Matias Su hit a great ball. Pablo Barea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilfredo Izel, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. 41 minutes into the match, Mattaldi F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Wilfredo Izel came free, but Pablo Barea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emanuel Joseph's late challenge caught a La Banda del Sur's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Emanuel Joseph helped the player get up and apologised. In the 43rd minute of the match Higinio Artal sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pablo Barea skillfully saved the ball. When Lázaro Prejun came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Mattaldi F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lázaro Prejun couldn't finish the play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wilfredo Izel to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Gregorio Oihan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 54 minutes into the match, Wilfredo Izel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pablo Barea. Mattaldi F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wilfredo Izel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Mattaldi F.C were furious when Jaime Bastia was red carded, 59 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 58 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Mattaldi F.C! Higinio Artal shot the penalty kick right outside the post. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Anselmo Veronica managed to get in a good position for a shot. La Banda del Sur's supporters rose to their feet, but Anselmo Veronica was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pablo Barea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When La Banda del Sur's Anselmo Veronica in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mattaldi F.C's goalie prevented a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Wilfredo Izel managed to get in a good position for a shot. La Banda del Sur's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilfredo Izel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pablo Barea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 70th minute, Gregorio Oihan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wilfredo Izel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pablo Barea having to interfere. In the 85th match minute, Mattaldi F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Octavio Ceandro to maneuver through the defense. Wilfredo Izel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Pablo Barea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anselmo Veronica sent away a hard shot on goal in the 100th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. La Banda del Sur fully deserved thier win.
