Concepción AFC's Marcos Henry got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Paulo Clemencin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Ulises Vimaro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cirilo Santo in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ulises Vimaro saved Concepción AFC from getting behind. Cirilo Santo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Ulises Vimaro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cirilo Santo in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ulises Vimaro saved Concepción AFC from getting behind. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Concepción AFC's goalkeeper Ulises Vimaro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Paulo Clemencin might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ulises Vimaro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paulo Clemencin ran back to his position shaking his head. Paulo Clemencin did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Ulises Vimaro 46 minutes into the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Marcos Henry struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Godofredo Aguilera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Concepción AFC. Godofredo Aguilera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcos Henry in the 55th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Concepción AFC's zone, Cirilo Santo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ulises Vimaro came out of the goal and Cirilo Santo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cirilo Santo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Ulises Vimaro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 63 minutes into the match, Concepción AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Clemencin came free, but Ulises Vimaro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of riverplatense booed when Concepción AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco Lon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cirilo Santo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The riverplatense fans' excitement grew in the 75th match minute when riverplatense's Paulo Clemencin looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ulises Vimaro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cirilo Santo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Concepción AFC's Tobias Tonete got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cirilo Santo in the 92nd minute of play forced Concepción AFC's goalkeeper Ulises Vimaro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. riverplatense's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
