But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Genaro Dolfo couldn't finish the play. 13 minutes into the match, La Banda FC's goal looked a bit too open when Genaro Dolfo came free, but Elpidio Soter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 15th minute, Cornelio Lluis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Taboada FC booed when La Banda FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silvano Chano didn't get a good kick on the ball. La Banda FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 19 minutes into the game, Taboada FC's Genaro Dolfo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julian Maju recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Genaro Dolfo came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Taboada FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Genaro Dolfo couldn't finish the play. Primitivo Firmin made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Delmar Kinsen sent off a good shot on target. Paulo Bautista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After a defensive mix-up in La Banda FC's zone, Genaro Dolfo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elpidio Soter came out of the goal and Genaro Dolfo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julian Maju might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Elpidio Soter. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Julian Maju ran back to his position shaking his head. Taboada FC's Genaro Dolfo got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 58th match minute, La Banda FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silvano Chano to maneuver through the defense. The referee gave La Banda FC a penalty, 63 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Lázaro Faron, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Taboada FC's Primitivo Firmin. 1-1. If Blas Garaile had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 70 minutes, Baldomero Inko mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Taboada FC and the La Banda FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Primitivo Firmin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Delmar Kinsen in the 82nd minute of the match. Taboada FC's Primitivo Firmin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvaro Serapio in the 86th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Alvaro Serapio managed to get in a good position for a shot. La Banda FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alvaro Serapio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Primitivo Firmin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Delmar Kinsen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. La Banda FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Taboada FC had controlled the match.
