The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Urbano Selatse during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 17thth minute of the game Eustaquio Bihar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Punua's Alejo Federigo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Eustaquio Bihar struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Alejo Federigo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Obanta. In the 30th minute, Urbano Selatse ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lisandro Presebal was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After a rather tough play, Obanta's Hermengildo Ofelio got a free kick in the 37th minute. Lisandro Presebal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ubaldo Otsando in the 43rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Eustaquio Bihar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Obanta's supporters rose to their feet, but Eustaquio Bihar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alejo Federigo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half Punua were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
With a little luck, Obanta's Lisandro Presebal got control of the ball when Ubaldo Otsando tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lisandro Presebal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guido Orlo, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute.
