With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alvaro Tabby prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alvaro Tabby made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucas Isidor in the 21st minute of play. Amadeo Herena's late challenge caught a Concepción AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Amadeo Herena helped the player get up and apologised. Concepción AFC's Alvaro Tabby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angel Ledesma in the 28th minute of play. The MSG players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Concepción AFC were winning 0-1.

MSG's Albino Matteo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save MSG from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in MSG's zone, Joaquin Tajo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Albino Matteo came out of the goal and Joaquin Tajo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Ariel Bibiano fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MSG's protests and gave Ariel Bibiano a yellow card for diving instead. Ariel Bibiano kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Joaquin Tajo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 59thth minute tested the skills of Albino Matteo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Joaquin Tajo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Concepción AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Joaquin Tajo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
