A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When Cecilio Claus fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Real Livingstone FC's protests and gave Cecilio Claus a yellow card for diving instead. Cecilio Claus hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Victorino Gomesano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Americo Cordeiro in the 10th minute of play. Saturnino Fonda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eusebio Rubio might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Victorino Gomesano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eusebio Rubio ran back to his position shaking his head. Saturnino Fonda hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Cecilio Claus hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. After having played for 25 minutes, Americo Cordeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Churqui's supporters crossed their fingers, but Americo Cordeiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 38th minute, Americo Cordeiro fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Victorino Gomesano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hermengildo Osmundo in the 40th minute. In the 47th minute, Hermengildo Osmundo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The supporters of Churqui booed when Real Livingstone FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isaias Jeraldo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Real Livingstone FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Churqui the free kick. In the 70th minute Hermengildo Osmundo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victorino Gomesano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Americo Cordeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Churqui's supporters rose to their feet, but Americo Cordeiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Victorino Gomesano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Churqui's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
