After 18 minutes, Silvano Txartiko mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Instituto and the Aiacos players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 19th match minute, Instituto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silvano Txartiko to maneuver through the defense. Hernan Haritzeder kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the game, Arsenio Senin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Delmar Bortzaioriz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Delmar Bortzaioriz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erubiel Calixto in the 34th minute of the match. Aiacos's Hernan Haritzeder shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 40th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Delmar Bortzaioriz but with some difficulty. Delmar Bortzaioriz made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Angelino Tiso sent off a good shot on target. Instituto's Alberto Acosta got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

55 minutes into the game, Rafael Lucian was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Instituto's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Aiacos the free kick. Rafael Lucian kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Alberto Acosta charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Delmar Bortzaioriz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arsenio Senin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 65 minutes of play Instituto's Alberto Acosta was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Aiacos's Silvano Caradaro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Aiacos from getting a goal against them. After having played for 73 minutes, Silvano Txartiko managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Instituto's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silvano Txartiko was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 74th minute, Severiano Herena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Apolo Ursino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Silvano Txartiko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice moves Apolo Ursino could shoot a difficult shot in the 85th minute, which Silvano Caradaro however easily saved by the left post. Silvano Txartiko recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Apolo Ursino struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Silvano Caradaro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Instituto. Arsenio Senin scored 3-0 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Delmar Bortzaioriz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Aiacos fans cheered their team off the field, for while Instituto had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
