Domingos Medardo's late challenge caught a Telén's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Domingos Medardo helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Kentucky getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Domingos Medardo hit a great ball. If Siro Abadie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Siro Abadie struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Carlos Palos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Telén. Carlos Palos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arturo Monte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th match minute, Kentucky was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anibal Karlo to maneuver through the defense. In the 20thth minute of the game Arturo Monte who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kentucky's Carlos Palos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Siro Abadie in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlos Palos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Siro Abadie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Domingos Medardo was shown his second yellow card after 28 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 29 played minutes, Telén's Lisandro Raitin shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Carlos Palos came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Telén reached it. After having played for 36 minutes, Hernan Alfonso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kentucky's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hernan Alfonso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Telén's Siro Abadie got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Siro Abadie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Palos having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Armando Hermelando managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kentucky's supporters rose to their feet, but Armando Hermelando was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Honorato Nafarroa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arturo Monte to strike the kick off in the second half. Siro Abadie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carlos Palos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arturo Monte in the 61st minute of play. Arturo Monte struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Carlos Palos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Telén. Francisco Kimetz hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Siro Abadie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Palos having to interfere. Edelmiro Farias took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Carlos Palos. Carlos Palos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 87th minute, Armando Hermelando got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
