Malvinas FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Narciso Oton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zeledon Txatxu kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Leonardo Seme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcelino Tallia, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. If Narciso Oton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Malvinas FC. 39 minutes into the match, Fabricio Lucero had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vladimiro Calisto. Malvinas FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fabricio Lucero was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. When Narciso Oton fell near the penalty area in the 48th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Malvinas FC's protests and gave Narciso Oton a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Malvinas FC getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Narciso Oton hit a great ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Marcelino Tallia made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute of the match Malvinas FC got a corner. LAZO's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Herminio Evarado ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Honorio Sancho almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but LAZO's Leonardo Seme did a great save. Narciso Oton blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leonardo Seme having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Malvinas FC's zone, Humberto Hats stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vladimiro Calisto came out of the goal and Humberto Hats tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Fabricio Lucero came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the LAZO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabricio Lucero couldn't finish the play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. LAZO walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
