Spectators: 7267 (Terracing: 5452, Seating: 1671, VIP seats: 144) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Jorge Bras kicked off to start the match. Ramon Laffitte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cornelio Botello having to interfere. In the 15th minute, Igor Ritchie left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The RIVER fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After 19 played minutes RIVER got a freekick which was hit by Igor Ritchie. If Igor Ritchie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bruno Osasun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 36 minutes into the match, Club A. Boca Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Igor Ritchie came free, but Cornelio Botello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 39 minutes into the game, RIVER's Bruno Osasun nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cornelio Botello made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Cornelio Botello showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jose Pirro in the 46th minute of the match.

Bruno Osasun's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Cornelio Botello firmly grabbed it by the left post. If Agustin Frances had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Honorio Lopez charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Honorio Lopez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Honorio Lopez kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Club A. Boca Juniors's Cornelio Botello proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Club A. Boca Juniors from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Igor Ritchie's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cornelio Botello was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. In the 64th match minute, Club A. Boca Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Igor Erramun to maneuver through the defense. Ramon Laffitte recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cornelio Botello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Igor Ritchie in the 70th minute of play. RIVER's Cosme Llope played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Bras in the 72nd minute of play. Bruno Osasun's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 74thth minute, Cornelio Botello skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Ramon Laffitte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Cornelio Botello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ramon Laffitte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cornelio Botello having to interfere. Igor Erramun hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. In the 90th minute, Cecilio Lope hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 93rd minute, Jose Pirro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cornelio Botello was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Igor Ritchie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cornelio Botello having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded RIVER left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Club A. Boca Juniors.
