The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute, Laureano Bastia left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Soto fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Erubiel Balasi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Sangre verde y negra fc booed when Soto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alejandro Nayely didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Sangre verde y negra fc's Remigio Betadur, in the 13th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Sangre verde y negra fc. After a defensive mix-up in Soto's zone, Remigio Betadur stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aquilino Gaueko came out of the goal and Remigio Betadur tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Paolo Ciano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laureano Bastia in the 18th minute of the match. After 19 played minutes Sangre verde y negra fc got a freekick which was hit by Zeledon Erauso. Paolo Ciano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laureano Bastia in the 21st minute of play. Erubiel Balasi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Paolo Ciano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th minute Laureano Bastia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paolo Ciano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 28th minute, Alfredo Loreto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Sangre verde y negra fc's zone, Laureano Bastia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paolo Ciano came out of the goal and Laureano Bastia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Soto's Alejandro Nayely got a free kick in the 35th minute. 36 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Sangre verde y negra fc's Aquilino Paublo fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Sangre verde y negra fc's Paolo Ciano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laureano Bastia in the 44th minute of play. In the 46th minute Desiderio Hulberto suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aquilino Paublo during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 47 played minutes Sangre verde y negra fc got a freekick which was hit by Aquilino Paublo. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Erubiel Balasi made a kick off. Aquilino Gaueko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Remigio Betadur in the 53rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aquilino Paublo in the 55th minute of play forced Soto's goalkeeper Aquilino Gaueko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 57th minute Aquilino Paublo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aquilino Gaueko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Erubiel Balasi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Leonardo Dolfo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alfredo Loreto's late challenge caught a Soto's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alfredo Loreto helped the player get up and apologised. Leonardo Dolfo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Paolo Ciano made a huge save. Paolo Ciano came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Soto's Erubiel Balasi. But to his dismay, Erubiel Balasi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Erubiel Balasi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Paolo Ciano made a huge save. In the 87th minute Remigio Betadur shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aquilino Gaueko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Erubiel Balasi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paolo Ciano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Erubiel Balasi in the 94th minute. Erubiel Balasi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paolo Ciano having to interfere. When the match was over Soto could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Sangre verde y negra fc throughout the match.
