After 34th play minutes Octavio Belmiro shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Claudio Gartxot and just under the crossbar into goal. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 43rd minute, but Claudio Gartxot got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Deportivo Llorente hanging dry this time. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

If Octavio Belmiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 57 minutes into the match, Eustacio Sergi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Claudio Gartxot. Deportivo Llorente's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eustacio Sergi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0.
