Gaston Mannie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Mario Iturbide tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bernabe Quinto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nestor Escobar, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nereo Nofre during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The Rufina FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind El Belgranito's goalkeeper Mario Iturbide, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mario Iturbide made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Isaias Confesor sent off a good shot on target. If Fernan Cesario had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Rufina FC getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Angelino Corderro hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Rufina FC's zone, Nestor Escobar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernabe Quinto came out of the goal and Nestor Escobar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

After some careless play in the El Belgranito defense, Isaias Confesor kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mario Iturbide. The El Belgranito fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mario Iturbide should have stopped the shot. Isaias Confesor blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mario Iturbide having to make a save. Mario Iturbide made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaston Mannie in the 69th minute of play. Nestor Escobar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Rufina FC's Bernabe Quinto got control of the ball when Fernan Cesario tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gaston Mannie in the 78th minute of play forced El Belgranito's goalkeeper Mario Iturbide to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Gaston Mannie managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rufina FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gaston Mannie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mario Iturbide breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
