Silvano Uzuri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruben Godoy having to interfere. Ruben Godoy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvano Uzuri in the 11th minute of play. In the 15th minute there was a penalty for Franklin FC. Everardo Jakobe stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Alejandro Barto. 0-1. After 18 minutes, Ciro Milio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Xeneise FC and the Franklin FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Franklin FC booed when El Xeneise FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ciro Milio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Silvano Uzuri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Ruben Godoy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Orlando Bittor managed to get in a good position for a shot. Franklin FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Orlando Bittor was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alejandro Barto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 29 minutes, Ramiro Txatxu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Franklin FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ramiro Txatxu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Franklin FC's Victor Raebert got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Silvano Uzuri in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ruben Godoy prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 36th play minute Timoteo Sarracino came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Ruben Godoy. 1-1. If Ramiro Txatxu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Franklin FC's Diego Belasko got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Timoteo Sarracino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruben Godoy having to interfere. Orlando Bittor struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Alejandro Barto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Franklin FC. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Orlando Bittor took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Alejandro Barto to make any attempt to save it. Diego Belasko ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ramiro Txatxu got free with Alejandro Barto in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ruben Godoy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silvano Uzuri, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. The supporters of El Xeneise FC booed when Franklin FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diego Belasko didn't get a good kick on the ball.
