Florencio Hernando helped the player get up and apologised. Zeledon Sanchez succeeded in the game's 5th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. Los Gigantes's Severo Elia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusebio Cordarin in the 8th minute of play. Alberto Gilabert charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alberto Gilabert the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 11th match minute, Jarillito FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberto Gilabert to maneuver through the defense. 14 minutes into the match, Los Gigantes's Zeledon Sanchez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Elpidio Peyo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Jarillito FC booed when Los Gigantes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cipriano Nevada didn't get a good kick on the ball. 18 minutes into the match, Honorato Aurken notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Los Gigantes's Severo Elia. Severo Elia was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Los Gigantes's Severo Elia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Gilabert in the 21st minute of play. After 27 minutes of play, Jarillito FC's Ruben Poncio made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Severo Elia was left in no man's land by his defense there! Zeledon Sanchez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elpidio Peyo having to interfere. Severo Elia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruben Poncio in the 43rd minute of play. After some careless play in the Los Gigantes defense, Eusebio Cordarin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Severo Elia. The Los Gigantes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Severo Elia should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Zeledon Sanchez made the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Los Gigantes's Severo Elia got control of the ball when Honorato Aurken tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cipriano Nevada sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some careless play in the Jarillito FC defense, Orlando Montel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Elpidio Peyo. The Jarillito FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elpidio Peyo should have stopped the shot. Zeledon Sanchez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomás Tercero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elpidio Peyo having to interfere. Orlando Montel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Elpidio Peyo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zeledon Sanchez in the 80th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Jarillito FC's Eusebio Cordarin got a free kick in the 81st minute. Zeledon Sanchez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Elpidio Peyo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cipriano Nevada fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elpidio Peyo having to interfere. Igor Leheren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zeledon Sanchez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Elpidio Peyo having to make a save. The Los Gigantes manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Jarillito FC to win.
