After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Romulo Ganix managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vancouver's supporters rose to their feet, but Romulo Ganix was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emanuel Balesio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gustavo Poz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Feliberto Blanco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ramon Poncio charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ramon Poncio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Alcaraz AFC booed when Vancouver was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramon Poncio didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Melquiades Aragones in the 22nd minute of play forced Vancouver's goalkeeper Gustavo Poz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Melquiades Aragones received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Gustavo Poz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paolo Jakobe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustavo Poz having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Melquiades Aragones in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gustavo Poz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Alcaraz AFC's Hipolito Urki got a free kick in the 35th minute. If Melquiades Aragones had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hipolito Urki struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Gustavo Poz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alcaraz AFC. 43 minutes into the game, Hipolito Urki was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Alcaraz AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vancouver the free kick. In the 43rd minute, Hipolito Urki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Romulo Ganix recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

A collision led to Alcaraz AFC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Marcelo Solustiano hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Hipolito Urki kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gustavo Poz. That made the score 0-1 in the 62 minute of play. Ramon Poncio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vancouver's Gustavo Poz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Melquiades Aragones in the 74th minute of play. Paolo Jakobe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustavo Poz having to interfere. After having played for 78 minutes, Feliberto Blanco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alcaraz AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Feliberto Blanco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gustavo Poz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paolo Jakobe in the 81st minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, Vancouver's goalkeeper Gustavo Poz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hipolito Urki. Emanuel Balesio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dionisio Rafel in the 86th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Melquiades Aragones took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Gustavo Poz to make any attempt to save it. In the 96th minute of the game Rodolfo Osorio made a throw-in which Fabian Rafel played forward.
