Spectators: 6663 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Zeledon Sanchez started the match with the kick off. After 8 played minutes Anguli AFC got a freekick which was hit by Arnaldo Dominic. The supporters of Los Gigantes booed when Anguli AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnulfo Padro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rene Petri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zeledon Sanchez in the 14th minute of the match. Evelio Cordaro kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. A collision led to Los Gigantes getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Orlando Montel hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arnulfo Padro got free with Severo Elia in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arnulfo Padro made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 29thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Severo Elia would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. 30 minutes into the match, Los Gigantes's goalkeeper Severo Elia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Salvador Fe. Zeledon Sanchez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rene Petri having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Los Gigantes's Tomás Tercero got a free kick in the 41st minute. Arnulfo Padro scored 1-0 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Severo Elia, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Zeledon Sanchez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

In the 53rd match minute, Los Gigantes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Igor Leheren to maneuver through the defense. In the 54th minute of the match Evelio Cordaro shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Severo Elia showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Cipriano Nevada charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cipriano Nevada the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 58 played minutes Los Gigantes got a freekick which was hit by Cipriano Nevada. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnulfo Padro in the 61st minute of play forced Los Gigantes's goalkeeper Severo Elia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rene Petri made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zeledon Sanchez in the 64th minute. Tomás Tercero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Rene Petri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Cipriano Nevada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 70 minutes into the match, Anguli AFC's goalkeeper Rene Petri had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zeledon Sanchez. Cipriano Nevada sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 75 minutes into the game, Anguli AFC's Salvador Fe nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Severo Elia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. After 78 minutes, Arnulfo Padro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Anguli AFC and the Los Gigantes players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Zeledon Sanchez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 83 minutes into the match, Los Gigantes's Zeledon Sanchez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rene Petri narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Los Gigantes's Severo Elia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ceferino Herrera in the 92nd minute of play. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Anguli AFC were victorious despite being under pressure from Los Gigantes for much of the match.
