Enrique Irrintzi came out of the goal and Leonides Abreu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 9 minutes into the match, Antuco FC's goal looked a bit too open when Leonides Abreu came free, but Enrique Irrintzi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anselmo Millrick in the 10th minute of play forced Club Atlético Paraná's goalkeeper Raimundo Precioso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Arsenio Caitano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 19 minutes, Anselmo Millrick managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Antuco FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anselmo Millrick was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arsenio Caitano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Arsenio Caitano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Anselmo Millrick had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Arsenio Caitano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Raimundo Precioso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Raimundo Precioso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anselmo Millrick, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arsenio Caitano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raimundo Precioso having to interfere. Anselmo Millrick struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Raimundo Precioso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Antuco FC. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Anselmo Millrick stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Anselmo Millrick had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Arsenio Caitano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Enrique Irrintzi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaime Jatsu in the 66th minute of the match. When Arsenio Caitano came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Antuco FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arsenio Caitano couldn't finish the play. Club Atlético Paraná's Raimundo Precioso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Club Atlético Paraná from getting a goal against them. In the 74th minute Leonides Abreu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Irrintzi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jaime Jatsu took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Enrique Irrintzi. Enrique Irrintzi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Club Atlético Paraná's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
