The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 27th match minute, Almirante Brown was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ignacio Rey to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Almirante Brown booed when Barrio Alberdi FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elvio Olo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 37 played minutes Barrio Alberdi FC got a freekick which was hit by Vinicio Florian. After having played for 39 minutes, Saverio Asier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Almirante Brown's supporters crossed their fingers, but Saverio Asier was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fabian Maldonado stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fabian Maldonado might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Romulo Argina. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fabian Maldonado ran back to his position shaking his head. If Rosendo Mede had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
