The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Lino Markel scored 0-1 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bernardo Ubendu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Aurelia's zone, Gervasio Venerando stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernardo Ubendu came out of the goal and Gervasio Venerando tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aurelia's Bernardo Ubendu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lino Markel in the 12th minute of play. Des Sugden took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bartolo Merexildo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 27th minute of the game. One of Aurelia:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Club Atlético River Plate:s goal. In the 33rd minute, Aurelia's Bartolo Merexildo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. With a little luck, Club Atlético River Plate's Des Sugden got control of the ball when Prospero Vincente tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gervasio Venerando fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Ubendu having to interfere. The Aurelia players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Club Atlético River Plate were winning 1-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gervasio Venerando to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Epifanio Cambranes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Atlético River Plate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Epifanio Cambranes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Gervasio Venerando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Club Atlético River Plate's Gervasio Venerando in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Aurelia's goalie prevented a goal. After 71 minutes of play, Club Atlético River Plate's Lino Markel made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bernardo Ubendu was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 77th minute Lino Markel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardo Ubendu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Matias Urtsua fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Aurelia's protests and gave Matias Urtsua a yellow card for diving instead. In the 78th minute, Matias Urtsua hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bernardo Ubendu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gervasio Venerando in the 81st minute of the match. A wasted opportunity for Club Atlético River Plate. The Aurelia fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Club Atlético River Plate were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
