Barcala FC's Freddy Abaunza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Barcala FC from getting a goal against them. Freddy Abaunza came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Batatona FC's Ambrosio Osmundo. But to his dismay, Ambrosio Osmundo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Romulo Gerazan scored 2-0 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Freddy Abaunza, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Barcala FC's goalkeeper Freddy Abaunza, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Batatona FC booed when Barcala FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaime Froylan didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Barcala FC's Freddy Abaunza got control of the ball when Alfredo Oroitz tried to sneak it across the goal line. Romulo Gerazan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Freddy Abaunza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Alfredo Oroitz put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Freddy Abaunza. In the 38th minute, Romulo Gerazan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Batatona FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. 42 minutes in the game, Alfredo Oroitz dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Batatona FC's Ambrosio Osmundo got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Freddy Abaunza made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Alfredo Oroitz sent off a good shot on target. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adrian Tello was the one to do the kick off. Romulo Gerazan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
