Feliciano Jax's late challenge caught a Escobar's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Granville's Lucas Jon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moises Calisto in the 6th minute of play. 6 minutes into the game, Horacio Pierres was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Granville's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Escobar the free kick. In the 11th minute, Baldomero Arixo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Escobar's zone, Gervasio Marquez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joel Silvanito came out of the goal and Gervasio Marquez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gervasio Marquez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Silvanito having to interfere. Joel Silvanito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gervasio Marquez, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Gogo Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucas Jon having to interfere. If Gogo Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Moises Calisto came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Escobar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Moises Calisto couldn't finish the play. Joel Silvanito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gervasio Marquez in the 45th minute of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gervasio Marquez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The attack was good, but when Baldomero Arixo in the 52nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Gogo Sancho scored 0-1 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lucas Jon, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Lucas Jon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moises Calisto in the 59th minute of play. Baldomero Arixo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Silvanito having to interfere. Gervasio Marquez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Silvanito having to interfere. Feliciano Jax received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Joel Silvanito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lucas Jon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Moises Calisto's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. Gogo Sancho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lucas Jon having to make a save.
