The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Nemesio Ursino managed to get in a good position for a shot. La Gota FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nemesio Ursino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Iker Torres breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. La Gota FC's Rosendo Mazuste got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Club Atlético 0 Descensos's Iker Torres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nemesio Ursino in the 23rd minute of play. A collision led to La Gota FC getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Guaberto Paskal hit a great ball. In the 30th minute Leo Ixona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gervasio Lixandro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Leo Ixona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 41 minutes into the match, Club Atlético 0 Descensos's goalkeeper Iker Torres had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rosendo Mazuste.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Genaro Lander to make the kick off. Iker Torres showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victoriano Firme, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. With an all-out effort, Club Atlético 0 Descensos's Gervasio Lixandro threw himself towards the right post 87 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Genaro Lander, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a defensive mix-up in Club Atlético 0 Descensos's zone, Nemesio Ursino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iker Torres came out of the goal and Nemesio Ursino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 96th minute Rosendo Mazuste shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iker Torres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Club Atlético 0 Descensos's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
