The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Cazapán AFC's German Dalmai got a free kick in the 2nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Teobaldo Vedillo during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ruperto Vincent struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Desiderio Osmundo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cazapán AFC. 11 minutes into the match, Cazapán AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Ovidio Corderro came free, but Honorio Hernando reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ovidio Corderro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Honorio Hernando tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 19 minutes into the match, Cazapán AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Ovidio Corderro came free, but Honorio Hernando reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ranquile FC's Desiderio Osmundo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elias Ruisko in the 23rd minute of play. Honorio Hernando made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ovidio Corderro in the 25th minute of play. 31 minutes into the match, Ranquile FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ruperto Vincent came free, but Desiderio Osmundo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 34 minutes, Simon Pacho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cazapán AFC and the Ranquile FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 35th match minute, Cazapán AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Simon Pacho to maneuver through the defense. It was beautiful to see Ranquile FC's Candido Galtero in action when he in the 36th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Honorio Hernando made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anier Ticho in the 39th minute of play. 41 minutes into the game, Ranquile FC's Anier Ticho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Honorio Hernando made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. If Anier Ticho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Ranquile FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Marciano Tanio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Desiderio Osmundo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anier Ticho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Honorio Hernando having to interfere. Everardo Quinto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Honorio Hernando tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 61st minute, Camilo Dabi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ranquile FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After 69 played minutes Cazapán AFC got a freekick which was hit by Elias Dalmu. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arnulfo Cucao during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Cazapán AFC getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Arnulfo Cucao hit a great ball. Desiderio Osmundo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marciano Tanio in the 75th minute of the match. Desiderio Osmundo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruperto Vincent in the 78th minute of play. 82 minutes into the game, Ruperto Vincent cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Desiderio Osmundo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Anier Ticho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Honorio Hernando read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play.
