When the match clock showed 16 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Saverio Nahia sped through Ranquile FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Desiderio Osmundo. Teobaldo Vedillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elpidio Cordarryl having to interfere. Ovidio Corderro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Elpidio Cordarryl tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 24 minutes of play, Ranquile FC's Anier Ticho made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Elpidio Cordarryl was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 30th minute, Rafael Normando ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Desiderio Osmundo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Camilo Dabi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 42nd minute, Ovidio Corderro reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Elpidio Cordarryl. The goal made the score 2-2. Elpidio Cordarryl acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 47th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Candido Galtero.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Saverio Nahia to make the kick off. Saverio Nahia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Desiderio Osmundo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
