The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Ovidio Corderro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. Ranquile FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ovidio Corderro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Gilberto Hever had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Liricos FC's Modesto Macerio in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ranquile FC's goalie prevented a goal. Desiderio Osmundo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Modesto Macerio in the 28th minute of the match. When Santo Mazuste fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Liricos FC's protests and gave Santo Mazuste a yellow card for diving instead. After 30 played minutes Liricos FC got a freekick which was hit by Santo Mazuste. If Anier Ticho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ovidio Corderro in the 39th minute of play forced Liricos FC's goalkeeper Ovidio Romano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 40thth minute of the game Anier Ticho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Liricos FC's Ovidio Romano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Liricos FC booed when Ranquile FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Godofredo Sazon didn't get a good kick on the ball.

In the 55th minute, Camilo Dabi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Ranquile FC's Camilo Dabi got a free kick in the 66th minute. When Modesto Macerio came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Liricos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Modesto Macerio couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Liricos FC's zone, Ovidio Corderro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ovidio Romano came out of the goal and Ovidio Corderro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 75th minute, Eustacio Ekain hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 79 played minutes Liricos FC got a freekick which was hit by Isidro Gai. Gilberto Hever's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Desiderio Osmundo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. When the match had been going on for 90 minutes, Ranquile FC's Generoso Iliana got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Ovidio Romano. A collision led to Liricos FC getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Nicanor Bernard hit a great ball. Ovidio Romano made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Anier Ticho sent off a good shot on target. In the 97th minute, one of Ranquile FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ranquile FC. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
