Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Victorino Guib in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edelmiro Lando prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hector Donzel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gaspar Frascuelo kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Florencio Inocente's late challenge caught a River Norte F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Florencio Inocente helped the player get up and apologised. In the 12th minute, Florencio Inocente hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match clock showed 15 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Victorino Guib sped through Los gorgonitos's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Edelmiro Lando. Victorino Guib fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edelmiro Lando having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Victorino Guib in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edelmiro Lando saved Los gorgonitos from getting behind. If Victorino Guib had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 33 played minutes Los gorgonitos got a freekick which was hit by Florencio Inocente. Casimiro Timo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 42 minutes into the match, River Norte F.C.'s goalkeeper Rosendo Frutos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aurelio Luken. River Norte F.C.'s Ernesto Batista got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half River Norte F.C. were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After a defensive mix-up in Los gorgonitos's zone, Casimiro Timo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edelmiro Lando came out of the goal and Casimiro Timo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 55 minutes into the match, Los gorgonitos's goalkeeper Edelmiro Lando had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Victorino Guib. Victorino Guib received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Edelmiro Lando tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edelmiro Lando made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Victorino Guib sent off a good shot on target. Victorino Guib could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Edelmiro Lando made a huge save. If Casimiro Timo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. River Norte F.C.'s Froilan Tallia was substituted for Ignacio Gabino. 85 minutes into the match, Los gorgonitos's goalkeeper Edelmiro Lando had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Victorino Guib. After having played for 87 minutes, Hector Donzel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los gorgonitos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hector Donzel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match was over River Norte F.C. could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Los gorgonitos throughout the match.
