Francisco Gil took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Justo Mendez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Justo Mendez in the 7th minute of play forced HiguainFC's goalkeeper Francisco Gil to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 11 minutes into the game, Adan Tome recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Anier Beremundo. Adan Tome showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. After 17 minutes, Justo Mendez made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. HiguainFC's Francisco Gil tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 25th match minute, HiguainFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maximo Jaunzuria to maneuver through the defense. Ruperto Matthew sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Sepultura's supporters rose to their feet, but Baldomero Chinto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Francisco Gil breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Justo Mendez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Gil having to interfere. After 36 minutes of play HiguainFC's Maximo Jaunzuria was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Sepultura booed when HiguainFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maximo Jaunzuria didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Justo Mendez in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Francisco Gil saved HiguainFC from getting behind. Fidel Eneko struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Francisco Gil didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sepultura. In the 42nd minute, Adrian Arnalt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 48 minutes of play, Sepultura's Justo Mendez made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Francisco Gil was left in no man's land by his defense there! Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Justo Mendez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Gil having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Justo Mendez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Francisco Gil was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. Adrian Arnalt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Francisco Gil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 88 minutes into the game, Sepultura's Justo Mendez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Francisco Gil made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Valentin Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Justo Mendez came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Sepultura fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Justo Mendez couldn't finish the play. Sepultura's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
