The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some careless play in the Viamonte AFC defense, Tomás Herena kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cayetano Ponce. The Viamonte AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cayetano Ponce should have stopped the shot. After having played for 7 minutes, Fulgencio Jaunti managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Eldorado FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fulgencio Jaunti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 10 minutes into the game, Gavino Fresco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Viamonte AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Eldorado FC the free kick. The supporters of Eldorado FC booed when Viamonte AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gavino Fresco didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Epifanio Refugio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Silvio Senon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Gilberto Tolino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute Epifanio Refugio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cayetano Ponce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 32 played minutes Eldorado FC got a freekick which was hit by Fulgencio Jaunti. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fulgencio Jaunti got free with Cayetano Ponce in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Feliciano Ekialde had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 37th minute by Gilberto Tolino got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Eldorado FC's Fulgencio Jaunti slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Cayetano Ponce. That made the score 2-0 after 40 minutes of play. When Tomás Herena came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Eldorado FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomás Herena couldn't finish the play. Fulgencio Jaunti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Cayetano Ponce tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lorenzo Miro in the 47th minute of play forced Viamonte AFC's goalkeeper Cayetano Ponce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Silvio Senon made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Lorenzo Miro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ciro Berenguer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Faustino Ostadar in the 55th minute of play. Cayetano Ponce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fulgencio Jaunti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gavino Fresco in the 61st minute of play forced Eldorado FC's goalkeeper Ciro Berenguer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 66 minutes into the game, Epifanio Refugio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Cayetano Ponce was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Fulgencio Jaunti's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cayetano Ponce read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. If Epifanio Refugio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lorenzo Miro in the 83rd minute of play forced Viamonte AFC's goalkeeper Cayetano Ponce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lorenzo Miro struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Cayetano Ponce didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Eldorado FC. Fulgencio Jaunti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cayetano Ponce having to interfere. 94 minutes into the match, Tomás Herena had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cayetano Ponce. Viamonte AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomás Herena was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Eldorado FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
